Robert Half Accounts Payable Specialist in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania
Description
The Accounts Payable Clerk will be responsible for handling the full cycle of accounts payable duties in a fast-paced, high volume environment. This role includes processing a large number of invoices, ensuring accurate and timely payments, and maintaining strong vendor relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
Receive, review, and verify invoices for appropriate documentation and approval prior to payment.
Enter and upload invoices into the accounting system with a high degree of accuracy.
Handle a high volume of invoices, ensuring all are processed in a timely manner.
Prepare and process electronic transfers and payments.
Reconcile accounts payable transactions and monitor accounts to ensure payments are up to date.
Resolve invoice discrepancies and issues with vendors.
Maintain vendor files and ensure information is up to date.
Communicate effectively with vendors regarding billing and payment inquiries.
Build and maintain strong working relationships with vendors.
Assist in month-end closing, including reconciling accounts payable transactions and preparing reports.
Ensure compliance with financial policies and procedures.
Assist with audit requests and provide necessary documentation.
Respond to internal and external inquiries in a timely manner.
Assist with other accounting duties and projects as needed.
Requirements
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s degree in accounting preferred
Minimum of 1 year of accounts payable experience in a high volume environment.
Experience with accounting software and systems (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle).
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
