Robert Half Accounting Manager/Supervisor in Hartford, Connecticut

Description

We are in search of an Accounting Manager/Supervisor to join our team in Hartford, Connecticut. The role involves overseeing the preparation and analysis of financial reports, managing general ledger and accounts payable operations, and assisting in the implementation of new ERP systems.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the preparation and analysis of financial reports, cost reports, and corporate reporting packages

• Manage the general ledger and accounts payable

• Conduct cross-divisional and departmental revenue, cost and budget to actual analysis

• Reconciliations, including but not limited to: Cash, AR, AP, Advance Billings, Inventory, Return to Vendor, Fixed Assets and Inventory Accruals

• Support the operational reconciliation and audit of owned inventory

• Analyze various audits, prepare/review reports and communicate recommendations to management based on reports analysis

• Calculate and process monthly sales tax reporting to multiple states

Requirements

• Proven experience in a managerial or supervisory role within the accounting field

• Proficiency in using ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning software

• Comprehensive understanding of Accounting Functions

• Experience in managing Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Experience in Auditing and ensuring compliance with financial regulations and standards

• Ability to conduct Month End Close procedures

• Strong understanding of GAAP Accounting principles

• Proficiency in managing General Ledger and Journal Entry Preparation

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities

• Strong communication and leadership skills

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field is required; a Master's degree or CPA is preferred

• Ability to work independently and make decisions under pressure

• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously

• High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation

• Excellent interpersonal and team management skills.
