We are in search of a Contract Administrator to join our team in Hartford, Connecticut. This role is focused on administrating a variety of contracts, particularly in the philanthropic sector. The selected candidate will be responsible for managing the entire grants life-cycle, performing financial analysis, and ensuring compliance across all grant activities.
Responsibilities:
• Manage daily, monthly, quarterly, and annual grant-making processes to ensure proper authorization, funding, and timely payment of grants.
• Oversee the development of grant applications, award letters, and reporting metrics for grantees.
• Coordinate planning and program development activities, leading the grantmaking process and managing grant monitoring systems.
• Review and analyze grantee reports, taking necessary actions to ensure compliance with grant terms.
• Deliver grant-related reporting for both internal and external constituencies, maintaining data collection systems and creating analyses to gauge the effectiveness of our grant programs.
• Provide guidance to grantees on compliance matters and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to uphold adherence to program and funding policies.
• Stay current on foundation, nonprofit best practices, grant-making guidelines, and regulations. Recommend and manage changes for new and existing grant-making policies.
• Work closely with the Chief Financial Officer to ensure compliance with relevant tax regulations governing the Foundation’s grants and sources of funding.
• Oversee the execution and coordination of the day-to-day grants processing, workflow, and staff capacity.
• Collaborate closely with the Board of Directors, particularly the Grantmaking Committee.
• Utilize skills such as auditing, compliance, grant administration, and grant management to perform job functions efficiently and effectively.

Requirements • Demonstrable experience in Contract Administration
• Proficiency in Auditing practices and techniques
• Familiarity with Billing Functions within a corporate environment
• Understanding of Budget Processes, including planning and tracking
• Knowledge of Compliance regulations and best practices
• Experience in Grant Administration, including application and monitoring
• Skills in Grant Management and Grant Accounting, with a focus on accuracy and transparency
• Experience working with Foundation Grants, Post-grant procedures, and Private Grants
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, or related field preferred
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Word.
