Description

Our Hartford Municipal client is looking for a Senior Accountant for a 3-6 month project. The Senior Accountant will help with day to day accounting deliverables. The includes journal entries, account reconciliations, and month end close. Municipality accounting experience preferred.

Requirements • Possession of a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.

• Proven experience as a senior accountant in the government sector.

• Proficiency in account reconciliation, balance sheet reconciliation, and bank reconciliations.

• Extensive knowledge and experience with general ledger functions and month-end/year-end close processes.

• Demonstrated ability to record and analyze journal entries.

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other financial software for data entry and reporting.

• Strong analytical skills with a focus on details.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial information.

• Demonstrated understanding of government accounting principles and regulations.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team to meet deadlines and objectives.

• Commitment to continuous learning and development in the field of accounting.
