Description
Job Description:
Handling and processing Workers' Compensation claims, ensuring claims are processed in a timely and efficient manner.
Analyzing complex Workers' Compensation issues and providing recommendations to manage claims.
Acting as a liaison between employers, injury victims, and insurance carriers.
Ensuring all claims paperwork and documentation are correctly filed and updated.
Conducting thorough investigations to validate new claims.
Negotiating settlements with claimants and their representatives.
Keeping track of all Workers' Compensation laws and regulations that may affect claims processing.
Accelerating legitimate claims and curbing fraudulent or exaggerated claims.
Providing training and presenting claims information to employees, management, and vendors.
Assisting in the management of litigated files and collaborating with legal counsel.
Requirements
Qualifications:
The candidate must have a minimum of an associate degree, preferably in Law, Business or a related field. A Bachelor’s degree is highly preferred.
Prior experience in Workers Compensation, claims adjusting, or related insurance field is required.
Strong working knowledge of Workers' Compensation laws, medical terminology, and procedures.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are required.
Demonstrated organizational, data review, and analytical skills.
The ability to negotiate effectively.
Strong multitasking and prioritization skills.
Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office Suite.
State-specific insurance licensure is preferred.
Jurisdictions: Required - CT claims experience
Licenses: Required - CT claims adjuster license
Claims Background: Workers Compensation, Lost-Times
Jurisdictional Experience: Required - CT claims experience
Active Adjusters' licenses: Required - CT claims adjuster license
