COST ACCOUNTANT - HYBRID SCHEDULE, GREAT TEAM, EXCITING OPPORTUNITY!
Anna Parson at Robert Half is seeking a sharp, detail oriented COST ACCOUNTANT with strong communications skills to join a rapidly growing Manufacturing client in the Hauppauge area.
As the Cost Accountant, you will:
• Conduct standard cost accounting tasks, including the analysis and review of manufacturing costs and variances
• Complete month-end close procedures related to inventory and cost of goods sold
• Perform balance sheet account reconciliation on a regular basis
• Conduct annual physical inventories and reconcile inventory accounting records
• Utilize accounting software systems and tools such as Epicor, ERP, ADP - Financial Services, and Crystal Reports for various tasks
• Carry out PPV (Purchase Price Variance) analysis and take corrective actions if necessary
• Maintain and enhance Manufacturing Cost Accounting processes and systems
• Assist in the implementation and maintenance of internal controls related to inventory and cost accounting.

Requirements • Minimum of 3 years of experience in Cost Accounting or a related field
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• Proven skills in Cost Accounting, Manufacturing Cost Accounting, and Standard Cost Accounting
• Knowledge and experience in PPV (Purchase Price Variance)
• Demonstrated ability to conduct Annual Physical Inventories
• Experience in performing Month End Close activities
• Proficiency in Balance Sheet Account Reconciliation
• Strong understanding of Inventory Accounting
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Proficiency in using accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite
• Ability to adhere to strict deadlines and work under pressure
• Knowledge of manufacturing industry practices and regulations
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
