This full-time position is for a Controller who will work in the Hawthorne, California region. Planning and directing all accounting operational functions, handling the accumulation and consolidation of financial data for internal and external financial statements, evaluating accounting and internal control systems, and leading departmental staff will be essential for this role. The ideal candidate for this position can effectively manage self and others within strict time constraints when providing client services, lead while also being a team player, generate innovative ideas, and challenge the status quo. Manage the production of and monthly monitoring of the annual budget and forecasts
Research, plan and implement Finance Department initiatives including software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, as needed
Assess, execute and streamline policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies
Takes action on items beyond formal job responsibilities
Prepare cash-flow reports, projecting cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals, daily cash management
Present monthly financial reports to executive committee and partners
Ensure deliverables of self and team meet client expectations
Time monthly billing and other cash management techniques to make sure cash collection is punctual
Perform tasks associated with month-end and year-end close of income statement and balance sheet, account reconciliations & G/L analysis
Guide all operations of the finance department, including accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll
Work closely with executive team and partners to ensure efficient and successful firm-wide operation

Requirements - Excellent technology, analytics and management experience required
BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business related field
Ability to work well in matrix organization and dealing with ambiguity
7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller preferred
Excellent written, verbal and social communication skills
Able to build and deliver effective presentations to audiences with wide-ranging backgrounds
Vow to meet business deadlines
Comprehensive knowledge of month end closings
Knowledge of Month-end Close Activities
Strong familiarity with Month-end Journal Entries
Month-end Financial experience
Financial auditing experience
Prior work done in public accounting is desired
Extraordinary analytical, quantitative and social skills
Self-starter with efficient time management and organizational skills
Detailed and have the ability work independently
