Robert Half Staff Accountant in Hayward, California

Description We are seeking a Staff Accountant to join our team based in Hayward, California. In this role, you will be responsible for managing a variety of accounting tasks, ensuring the accuracy of financial records, and responding to vendor inquiries. This position offers a short term contract employment opportunity in the industry.

Responsibilities:

• Review and approve invoices for payment, ensuring all documentation is accurate and complete.

• Efficiently process complex invoices with multiple line items.

• Prioritize invoices based on potential cash discounts and payment terms.

• Prepare and process check runs for payment.

• Audit and process credit card bills in a timely manner.

• Match invoices to checks, obtain necessary signatures for checks, and distribute checks as needed.

• Maintain 1099 records accurately.

• Respond promptly and professionally to all vendor inquiries.

• Reconcile vendor statements, research, and correct any discrepancies.

• Assist in the closing process at month-end.

• Manage collections on past-due accounts.

• Collect and input new customer information into Quickbooks.

• Maintain company files and documentation thoroughly and accurately, in accordance with accepted accounting practices.

• Maintain and manage Petty Cash account.

• Undertake other job-related duties as assigned. Requirements • Must have a strong understanding and experience in Accounts Payable (AP)

• Proficiency in Accounts Receivable (AR) is required

• Experience in performing Bank Reconciliations is essential

• Must have knowledge and hands-on experience with General Ledger management

• Should be adept at making Journal Entries

• Must possess experience in Month End Close procedures

• Familiarity with NetSuite is necessary

• Proficiency in Oracle is required

• Experience with QuickBooks is a must

• Knowledge of SAP is essential
