As the company continues to expand and enhance its operations, they are seeking a Cost Accounting Manager to join their dynamic finance team and play a pivotal role in optimizing cost structures for their local plant in Heber Springs.

Job Overview:

The Cost Accounting Manager will be responsible for managing all aspects of cost accounting within the company’s manufacturing operations. This includes overseeing the preparation and analysis of product cost structures, inventory valuation, and cost analysis. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in cost accounting within a manufacturing environment, the ability to manage multiple projects, and a strong focus on process improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage the preparation and analysis of product cost structures, including direct materials, labor, and overhead.

  • Monitor and track cost variances, providing actionable insights and recommendations for cost reductions and operational efficiencies.

  • Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual cost accounting close process, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.

  • Develop and review cost accounting reports, including inventory valuations, standard cost updates, and margin analysis.

  • Work closely with production, procurement, and operations teams to ensure accurate cost reporting and performance tracking.

  • Continuously improve cost accounting systems and processes to enhance accuracy and operational efficiency.

  • Contribute to the annual budgeting and forecasting process, providing valuable insights into cost structures and financial performance.

  • Support pricing decisions and profitability analysis through detailed cost analysis.

  • Assist in internal and external audits by preparing cost-related documentation and addressing audit inquiries.

  • Manage and oversee periodic physical inventory counts, ensuring discrepancies are promptly reconciled.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for cost optimization and process improvements.

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA or Master’s degree preferred).

  • 5+ years of experience in cost accounting

  • Strong knowledge of cost accounting principles, standard costing, inventory management, and financial analysis.

  • Experience with ERP systems (e.g., Sage, SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics) and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

  • Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.

  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
