Description
Our client, a leading legal services provider focusing on elder law, is seeking a probate/estate administration paralegal to join its office in Hendersonville, NC (fully on-site). The probate paralegal will be responsible for managing and timely producing a high volume of complex, detailed work involving estate administration. The paralegal must be able to work independently, handling the administration of an estate from beginning to end, and collaborating with attorneys as needed. Qualified candidates should have at least 2 years of probate experience and must demonstrate excellent communication, writing and organizational skills.
Responsibilities
Prepare probate filings;
Estate administration (i.e., prepare accountings, manage trust expenses and distributions, etc.);
Prepare various correspondence to clients, financial institutions, insurance companies, etc.
Identifying, gathering, and valuing assets;
Assisting attorneys with drafting, revisions, and finalizing trusts, wills, and other estate planning documents;
Preparing accountings for both estates and trusts;
Managing a docket system and tracking deadlines.
Requirements
Requirements
2+ years of legal experience, specifically in probate/estate administration.
Undergraduate degree or paralegal certification (or equivalent);
Detailed, accurate, and an ability to handle confidential information
Experience working with Microsoft Office resources (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint), with PDF software and related scanning and production utilities, and document management software;
