In this role, your primary responsibilities will consist of providing support to the Payroll department in a variety of duties, including data entry, reconciliation of timecards, paycheck distribution and providing statements to various departments. This position would suit an individual with excellent communication skills who will be expected to effectively interact between teams, such as the internal team and outside customers. A Payroll Clerk opportunity, based in the Highland, New York area, has become available on a long-term contract basis.
Build and run custom reports
Correspond with employees via email and phone to garner approvals on timesheets
Deliver instruction/training to employees regarding the use of payroll-related systems including entry of timesheets, online access of pay statements, etc.
Data entry into spreadsheets and the payroll system
Build a system of administering and distributing reports
Update data into spreadsheets and the payroll system
Conduct clerical duties such as filing, scanning, faxing, photocopying, etc.
Requirements - Previous payroll experience
Excellent oral and written communications skills
Payroll software experience is a plus
Reconciliations experience highly preferred
Demonstrated knowledge of auditing
Experience with taxes
Proficiency in Monthly Basis
Payroll experience required
Comprehension of Bookkeeping Functions
Terminations experience desired
Background working with scanning
Adeptness in scheduling
Placement experience preferred
Payment Processing experience
Prior experience with authorizations
Human Resources (HR) Administration experience
Practical knowledge of Hiring Processes
Schedule Interviews experience highly desired
Earlier work involving Onboarding
General familiarity with Benefit Functions
Hands-on experience with labeling
Previous experience working with filing
Comprehensive knowledge of training
Expertise in Health Care
Foundational knowledge in Wages
Payroll Functions experience highly valued
Good understanding of Revenue Accounting
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are a must
Experience with high volume data entry
Ability to easily learn new systems
