Patricia Carlile at Robert Half has an exciting opportunity for a skilled Staff Accountant with one of their reputable clients. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance and general ledger reconciliation. Throughout the monthly close, you will also be responsible for various aspects of internal reporting. You will assist in developing and implementing accounting policies. In addition, you will take part in compliance, interact with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and look over schedules for the reporting processes. This position is very complex as it plays a part in the production of Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. This Hillsboro, Oregon area-based position is a challenging, multi-faceted opportunity to work for a company that recognizes and rewards hard work.

Key responsibilities

  • Play a part in a variety of department-wide initiatives

  • Support the month end, quarter end and year end closing process by preparing monthly financial close workbooks

  • Compose analyses for income statements and monthly balance sheets for management reporting

  • Compose thorough journal entries and account reconciliations which include, but are not limited to, cash, prepaid expenses, and payroll

  • Survey and organize various financial data, reporting it in a useful and understandable manner

  • Intercompany billings, transactions, and reconciliation

  • Manage reconciliation, depreciation, and fixed asset ledgers

  • Perform the month end close and produce journal entries under minimal supervision

  • Arrange schedules for capital lease and monthly payments

  • Implement, maintain, and adhere to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP

  • In-depth knowledge of reconciling month end balance sheet accounts

  • Ad hoc reporting and performing special projects upon request

  • Periodic maintenance and reconciliation of journal entries

  • Expertise in year end closings

  • Comprehensive knowledge of month end closings

  • Practical knowledge of Tax Accounting

  • Proficiency in Financial Statement

  • Quality experience with Property Tax

  • General familiarity with Tax Accounting

  • Foundational knowledge in financial statement preparation

  • Well-founded grasp of GAAP Accounting

  • Proven knowledge of fixed assets

  • Bank reconciliations experience highly desired

  • Current and relevant ERP system experience

  • Working knowledge of spreadsheets and databases

  • Self-starter and strong ethical standards

  • Outstanding analytical, quantitative and social skills

  • BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics

  • Recent and relevant accounting experience
