Robert Half Staff Accountant in Hiram, Ohio
Description Robert Half is looking for a talented, accurate Staff Accountant to fill a permanent position within an innovative company. As Staff Accountant, you will prepare journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance and general ledger reconciliation. You will also be responsible for many aspects of internal reporting during the monthly close. You will lend your skills in assisting the development and implementation of accounting policies. Also, you will take part in compliance, interact with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and review schedules for the reporting processes. This intricate position is involved in the production of Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. This Hiram, Ohio area-based position is a challenging, multi-faceted opportunity to work for a company that recognizes and rewards hard work.
Key responsibilities
Prepare monthly balance sheet and income statement analyses for management reporting
Ad hoc reporting and performing special projects upon request
Assist with the month end, quarter end and year end closing process by preparing monthly financial close workbooks
Partake in a variety of department-wide initiatives
Produce journal entries and perform the month end close under minimal supervision
Regularly maintain and reconcile journal entries
Compose thorough journal entries and account reconciliations which include, but are not limited to, cash, prepaid expenses, and payroll
Analyze and coordinate a variety of financial data, and report it in a useful and understandable manner
Assist in implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP
In-depth experience with month end balance sheet account reconciliations
Maintain capital lease and monthly payment schedules
Manage intercompany reconciliation, billings, and transactions
Maintain fixed asset ledgers, depreciation, and reconciliation Requirements - Spreadsheet and database capabilities
Attention to detail and proven ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement
Comfortable working in a changing and dynamic environment
Commitment and abilities to meet critical business deadlines
Self-starter with efficient time management and organizational skills
Efficient in ERP systems
Standard Costing experience
Annual Standard Cost experience preferred
Well-founded grasp of month end closings
Standard Costing experience
Proven knowledge of Accounts Payable (AP)
General familiarity with financial analysis
Proficiency in Standard Cost Accounting
Experience with Standard Costs
Fully formed organizational, written and verbal communication skills
Skilled in analytical, quantitative and social skills
BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
Recent and relevant accounting experience
Working knowledge of spreadsheets and databases
