This reputable Healthcare company is seeking a Controller through Robert Half Finance who has a knack for leading with high standards, positively motivating others, and making critical decisions and have experience taking charge of an accounting and clerical department. You will succeed in this position if you can plan and direct all accounting operational functions, handle the accumulation and consolidation of financial data for internal and external financial statements, evaluate accounting and internal control systems, and lead departmental staff. Candidates who can lead with integrity and reliability and have the ability to manage self and others with urgency, practicality and accountability when providing client services, will be preferred for this position. The Controller position is a full-time opportunity in the Hoboken, New Jersey region.

How you will make an impact

• Manage the production of the annual budget and forecasts and monitor them monthly

• Time monthly billing and other cash management techniques to make sure cash collection is punctual

• Assess deliverables of self and team to verify they meet client expectations

• Comfortable handling responsibilities beyond formal job duties

• Manage monthly and annual close of income statement and balance sheet, the reconciliations of accounts, and G/L analysis

• Assess, execute and streamline policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies

• Guide all operations of the finance department, including accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll

• Give executive committee and partners monthly financial reports

• Handle daily cash management and produce cash-flow reports, calculating cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals

• Work closely with executive team and partners to ensure efficient and successful firm-wide operation

• Research, prepare and execute Finance Department initiatives such as software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, as required

Requirements

• Excellent written, verbal and social communication skills highly desired

• CPA or MBA preferred

• Prior experience in a public accounting environment is highly valued

• Healthcare / Hospital experience

• Comfortable working in a changing and dynamic environment

• Skilled in the construction and delivery of effective presentations to audiences with wide-ranging backgrounds

• BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business related field

• Progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller preferred

• Solid understanding of Microsoft Excel

• Takes action on items beyond formal job responsibilities

• Attention to detail and proven ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement

• Prior work in technology, analytics and management experience desired

• Extraordinary analytical, quantitative and social skills
