We are offering an exciting opportunity in the manufacturing industry for a Cost Accountant, based in Holland, Michigan. As a Cost Accountant, your key responsibilities will be to analyze financial data, support continuous improvement initiatives, manage inventory reconciliation processes, and handle foreign exchange transactions.

Responsibilities:

• Analyze financial information and prepare relevant reports, focusing on areas such as inventory valuation, job profitability, and departmental budgets.

• Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product and service efficiency, optimize materials usage, and streamline manufacturing processes.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to control and streamline inventory through detailed reconciliation processes.

• Manage foreign exchange transactions, providing guidance on currency risk in multi-currency environments.

• Support banking relationships, credit facilities, reconciliations, and overall cash flow management.

• Assist Accounting Specialists with tasks including credit applications, A/R and A/P processes, reconciliations, and sales tax filings.

• Oversee the management of capital equipment and expenditures through fixed assets software, including monthly updates to asset records.

• Implement and refine accounting work instructions and control procedures to ensure smooth operations and compliance across the organization.

Requirements

• The candidate should have at least 3 years of relevant experience in cost accounting.

• Strong analytical skills to interpret financial data and draw conclusions.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

• A bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field is required.
