Robert Half Payroll & HR Administrator in Hollister, California


A client is looking to staff a Payroll Administrator through Robert Half. You will contribute to the timely and accurate payroll production for employees as the Payroll Administrator. You should have the ability to communicate effectively and deliver strong internal customer service while working in a deadline-driven environment. Key responsibilities

  • Assist staff with general questions related to payroll, PTO accruals, wage deductions, fringe benefits and other pay related issues

  • Analyze pay practices related to FLSA, fringe benefit reporting and other payroll areas and determine how those practices apply to advise management

  • Establish systems and protocols to direct the collection, calculation and entering of pay data

  • Arrange timely processing of payroll in accordance with labor regulations and standard accounting principles

  • Administer quarterly and year-end payroll reports

  • Work with Information Technology, Human Resources, and other internal business partners to ensure security protocols for pay systems

  • Address voluntary deductions, as well as wage garnishments, pay levies, and other involuntary court-ordered payments in a timely manner, including reporting to the necessary authorities

  • Meet current payroll tax requirements and relevant laws associated with the processing of employee wage data, including payroll taxes, employee federal and state income and social security taxes and other required reporting

  • Direct regular payroll reporting as required and assist with financial audits related to pay records and associated general ledger

  • Perform review of data entered by others in the payroll software to include, but not limited to salary/wage increases, benefit deductions, employee termination dates, and employee leaves of absence under FMLA or other unpaid leave

    Requirements - Prior practice in various withholdings, garnishments, and processing liens

  • 3+ years of payroll experience

  • FPC or CPP required

  • Must have experience working with an HRIS system and high proficiency with spreadsheets

  • Payroll experience preferred

  • General familiarity with Process Bi-weekly Payroll

  • Well-founded grasp of Payroll Taxes

  • Quality experience with payroll taxes

  • Practical knowledge of Process Payroll

  • Expertise in bi-Monthly Payroll

  • Comprehensive knowledge of benefits payroll

  • Strong familiarity with Full Cycle Payroll

  • Wide ranging experience with benefits administration

  • Proven knowledge of Payroll Tax

  • In-house payroll experience
