Overview:
Our entertainment company in the heart of Hollywood is seeking a Temporary Payroll Administrator to join our team. We are looking for a detail-oriented and highly organized individual with strong Excel skills and experience working with ADP payroll systems. This role involves managing payroll for a high-volume, fast-paced environment with over 1,000 employees. The ideal candidate will have previous payroll experience, be comfortable working under tight deadlines, and thrive in a dynamic, creative workplace.
Key Responsibilities:
Payroll Processing: Accurately process bi-weekly payroll for over 1,000 employees using ADP Workforce Now or a similar system.
Data Management: Enter, update, and audit employee data (e.g., earnings, deductions, taxes) ensuring compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
Payroll Reporting: Generate and review payroll reports to ensure accuracy and resolve discrepancies before final processing.
Timekeeping: Review timecards for accuracy, resolve timekeeping issues, and ensure compliance with labor laws and company policies.
Compliance: Ensure payroll practices comply with federal, state, and local regulations, including wage & hour laws, tax regulations, and garnishments.
Benefit Deductions: Manage benefit-related deductions and contributions, including health insurance, 401(k), and other withholdings.
Record Keeping: Maintain payroll records and ensure all documentation is filed and easily accessible for audits.
Tax Filings: Assist in preparing and filing payroll taxes and year-end forms, such as W-2s.
Cross-Team Collaboration: Work closely with HR, Finance, and other departments to ensure smooth payroll operations and handle any employee payroll inquiries.
Requirements
Qualifications:
Experience: 3+ years of payroll experience, preferably in the entertainment industry or a similarly fast-paced environment.
Technical Skills: Proficient in ADP Workforce Now or similar payroll systems. Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, formulas) required.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, HR, or related field preferred, but equivalent experience will be considered.
High Volume: Experience processing payroll for 1,000+ employees in a multi-state environment is highly preferred.
Attention to Detail: Strong ability to review and analyze data for accuracy and compliance under tight deadlines.
Problem Solving: Excellent analytical skills with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve payroll discrepancies efficiently.
Confidentiality: Ability to handle sensitive employee information with discretion and integrity.
Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills for collaborating with internal teams and responding to employee inquiries.
