Description We are offering a long term contract employment opportunity for a Medical Records Clerk based in Home, Washington, 98349, United States. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining medical records within the healthcare industry, ensuring compliance with regulations and maintaining efficient, quality care for patients.

Responsibilities:

• Manage incoming faxes and distribute clinic mail in a timely manner

• Maintain the completeness and standard order of medical records through regular review

• Ensure all lab, x-ray, and other test reports are scanned into the electronic medical record after provider review

• Prepare inactive medical records for long-term storage

• Process refill requests and track routine requests

• Retrieve medical records from hospitals or other healthcare sources as authorized

• Comply with HIPPA, Federal and State laws when copying and releasing medical records

• Monitor and maintain the task box in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system

• Contribute to quality improvement projects as assigned

• Maintain cleanliness in assigned work areas

• Attend staff meetings and work effectively as a team member with other staff members

• Adhere to all policies, standards, and procedures as outlined in the Admin, Clinical, and HR Manuals and the agency Code of Conduct. Requirements • Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Medical Records Clerk or similar role

• Proficiency in using EMR (Electronic Medical Records)

• Experience with Access

• Knowledge of X-ray procedures and protocols

• Familiarity with the healthcare industry and its processes

• Proven experience in compiling documents and maintaining records

• Experience with NextGen software is a plus

• Proficient in scanning documents and maintaining digital files

• Demonstrated understanding of HIPAA Compliance and the Patient Privacy Rule
