Robert Half Network Engineer in Homer, Michigan
Description We are offering a long term contract employment opportunity for a Network Engineer to join our team in Homer, Michigan. This role will primarily involve performing network and environmental health checks, handling network drop requests, and configuring network switchports. The Network Engineer will also be expected to support in troubleshooting basic network issues.
Responsibilities:
• Conduct regular network and environmental health checks to ensure optimal performance and security.
• Handle network drop requests promptly and efficiently.
• Configure network switchports, including VLAN assignments and changes.
• Provide support in troubleshooting basic network issues as they arise.
• Ensure compliance with security controls for all network devices.
• Perform regular network system checks and updates to maintain the highest level of performance and security.
• Collaborate with other team members to resolve complex network issues.
• Use knowledge of Border Gateway Protocol (BGP), Checkpoint, Cisco ASA, Cisco Routers, and Cisco Technologies to optimize network performance.
• Utilize skills in AB Testing, Backup Technologies, Computer Hardware, and Configuration Management to improve network functionality.
• Ensure proper documentation of all network activities and changes. Requirements • Demonstrated proficiency in Border Gateway Protocol (BGP)
• Proficient with Checkpoint
• Proficiency in Cisco ASA is necessary
• Experience with Cisco Routers
• Strong knowledge of Cisco Technologies
• Familiarity with AB Testing
• Experience with Backup Technologies
• Strong knowledge of Computer Hardware
• Proficient in Configuration Management
• Experience in a Datacenter environment
• Knowledge of VLAN
• Knowledge of Security Control principles
