Robert Half Accounts Payable Clerk in Homewood, Illinois
Description Become an integral part of a rapidly growing team at a company in the Machinery Manufacturing industry as an Accounts Payable (A/P) Clerk on a contract / temporary basis. This short-term position is offered through Robert Half. Updating and reconciling sub-ledger to G/L, processing checks, processing expense reports, resolving A/P issues, and matching, batching, and coding invoices are just a few of the responsibilities of the Accounts Payable Clerk. Excellent communication, written and verbal are a must, as well as building relationships with vendors and other departments. This Accounts Payable Clerk role will be located in the Homewood, Illinois area and will be a short-term contract / temporary position.
How you will make an impact
Maintain proper storage of invoices, checks, and other documents by organizing, logging, scanning, and filing them
Execute daily processes and controls accurately and in a timely manner; ensuring compliance with company policies
Handle administrative tasks for the AP/Finance Department
Provide customer service to internal business partners
Open, organize, and distribute department mail daily
Carry out additional tasks as assigned
Implement full-cycle A/P
Verify, log and send checks, including facilitating special handling
Provide support during internal and external audits Requirements - Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills, especially when interacting with those in the technical and financial backgrounds
High attention to detail
AA or BS/BA degree in Accounting, Business or similar preferred
Prior experience in an A/P role preferred
Solid understanding of data entry
Ability to work within spreadsheets and databases
