Description

We are offering an opportunity in the manufacturing industry for a meticulous Accountant based in Honolulu, Hawaii. The role involves various accounting functions, including month-end close activities, forecasting, and handling accounts payable and receivable. This role is a short-term contract position that requires expertise in Accounting Software Systems, Microsoft Excel, and other relevant skills. Responsibilities:

• Process monthly closing activities, ensuring timely and accurate completion

• Prepare journal entries in compliance with company policies and regulations

• Reconcile accounts to maintain accurate records and resolve discrepancies

• Generate financial statements, including supporting schedules and reports

• Compute and file General Excise Tax in accordance with state laws

• Assist in forecasting to support strategic planning

• Distribute accounts payable checks to vendors and suppliers

• Process 1099 forms for independent contractors and freelancers

• Verify and code expense reports for payment processing

• Perform other accounting functions and support as needed, contributing to the smooth operation of the finance department.

Requirements • Proven experience in the Manufacturing industry as an Accountant

• Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems

• Comprehensive understanding of Accounting Functions

• Experience with Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Familiarity with Auditing processes and procedures

• Ability to manage Journal Entries accurately

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and MS Windows Vista

• Experience with Month-end Close Activities

• Ability to perform Forecasting tasks accurately

• Knowledge of Excise Tax regulations and compliance

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

• High level of accuracy and attention to detail

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

• Professional certification such as CPA, CMA, or similar will be an advantage.
