Robert Half Accounting Assistant in Honolulu, Hawaii

Description

We are looking to welcome an Accounting Assistant in the heart of HONOLULU, Hawaii, in the finance industry. This role mainly involves handling customer credit applications, maintaining accurate records, and resolving credit-related inquiries. The successful candidate will work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment and will play a crucial role in our team. Responsibilities:

• Process customer credit applications with accuracy and efficiency

• Maintain and update customer credit records to ensure they are accurate

• Monitor customer credit accounts and take necessary actions for delinquent payments

• Complete investor reports in compliance with requirements, including monthly duties and recording of each loan sale

• Record account data and disburse funds to investors

• Receive and track Hazard Insurance declarations and premium bills, as well as property tax bills

• Reconcile discrepancies as needed and disburse insurance premiums or property tax payments prior to due dates

• Conduct annual escrow analysis and provide notice to borrowers of changes to payment amounts

• Reconcile mortgage interest totals for reporting on 1098 tax form

• Utilize skills in Cash Balance and Journal Entries as part of daily tasks.

Requirements • Proficient in maintaining cash balances and ensuring accuracy in all transactions.

• Ability to make accurate journal entries, adjusting entries when necessary.

• Previous experience in a clerk job, preferably within the accounting sector.

• Strong attention to detail and ability to spot numerical errors.

• Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and priorities.

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for interacting with other departments.

• Proficient in using accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.

• Commitment to maintaining confidentiality of sensitive financial information.

• Basic understanding of accounting and financial principles.

• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.

• Willingness to continuously improve and update accounting knowledge and skills.

• Experience with financial reporting and financial data analysis is an advantage.

• High level of integrity and trustworthiness.
