Robert Half Accounting Clerk in Honolulu, Hawaii

Description

We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for an Accounting Clerk, based in Honolulu, Hawaii. This role is in the finance industry where you will be tasked with handling both accounts receivables and payables, providing support in administrative duties, and aiding in school administration tasks. Responsibilities:

• Manage and reconcile monthly receivables against reports and school records.

• Oversee students' accounts by adding or subtracting charges or fees and ensuring these are carried over into the new school year.

• Follow established procedures for deposit processing and manage vendor invoice payments.

• Handle purchase orders, reimbursements, and purchase requests.

• Conduct monthly reconciliation of school credit card statements.

• Organize student learning trip transportation and assist with the school lunch program.

• Provide first aid support and act as stand-in for health office coverage.

• Handle phone calls and emails, as well as greeting and assisting reception visitors.

• Provide support to the Business Office including file maintenance, mail sorting, and other tasks as assigned.

• Oversee maintenance of office equipment and supplies.

Requirements • Proven experience in an Accounting Clerk role or similar

• Proficiency in using accounting software such as QuickBooks, Oracle, and SAP

• Strong skills in Microsoft Excel for managing and analyzing financial data

• Experience with Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), and account reconciliation

• Familiarity with billing procedures and invoice processing

• Ability to perform data entry tasks with high accuracy

• Knowledge of financial regulations and legislation

• Excellent organizational skills for managing multiple tasks

• Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Strong communication skills for interacting with colleagues and stakeholders

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferable.
