We are offering an opportunity for an Assistant Controller based in Honolulu, Hawaii. The primary role will be to ensure the accuracy and efficiency of our company's accounting operations. The Assistant Controller will be responsible for interpreting financial data, generating periodic financial reports, and maintaining an adequate system of accounting records. Responsibilities:

• Oversee operations of the Accounting Department, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, invoicing, bank reconciliations, and payroll.

• Implement a documented system of accounting policies and procedures; introduce controls over accounting transactions to minimize risk.

• Generate annual budget and forecasts; provide variance analysis to management on a monthly basis.

• Manage the offshore/outsourced accounting team to ensure timely and accurate delivery of deliverables.

• Recommend benchmarks to measure the company’s performance.

• Provide Profit & Loss reports to management monthly.

• Evaluate manual processes and introduce automated or technology-based solutions.

• Oversee the production of periodic financial reports; ensure that the reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles.

• Provide financial analysis with an emphasis on capital investments, pricing decisions, and contract negotiations.

• Establish and maintain strong working relationships with General Managers; collaborate on solutions to cross-functional business problems.

• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal government requirements.

• Liaise with external auditors and provide needed information for audits.

• Establish a cash flow forecasting process and provide weekly reporting.

Requirements

• Must hold a minimum of 10 years of experience in a similar role

• Proven proficiency in Job Cost

• Demonstrated experience in Annual Financial Reporting

• Strong skills in Financial Analysis

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field is required

• Advanced understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)

• Proficiency in using financial software and Microsoft Office Suite

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment

• Must have a strong ethical framework and unquestionable integrity

• Proven ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines

• CPA or CMA certification is preferred.
