The Controller will be a full-time employment opportunity and will be located in the Honolulu, Hawaii region. This role's duties will require planning and directing all accounting operational functions, handling the accumulation and consolidation of financial data for internal and external financial statements, evaluating accounting and internal control systems, and leading departmental staff. In this role, it will be critical for you to effectively manage self and others within strict time constraints when providing client services, lead while also being a team player, generate innovative ideas, and challenge the status quo. Key responsibilities

  • Present executive committee and partners with monthly financial reports

  • Research, prepare and execute Finance Department initiatives such as software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, as required

  • Oversee the activities of the finance department, such as accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll

  • Able to perform additional tasks beyond formal job duties

  • Meet client expectations by reviewing deliverables of self and team to make sure they meet client satisfaction

  • Analyze, apply and improve policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies

  • Time monthly billing and other cash management techniques to make sure cash collection is punctual

  • Manage the production of the annual budget and forecasts and monitor on a monthly basis

  • Work closely with executive team and partners to ensure that firm-wide operation is efficient and effective

  • Handle daily cash management and produce cash-flow reports, calculating cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals

  • Manage monthly and annual close of income statement and balance sheet, the reconciliations of accounts, and G/L analysis

Requirements

  • Ability and willingness to meet business critical deadlines

  • Strong analytical capabilities and discernment

  • 3+ years of progressive accounting experiencer

  • CPA/MBA preferred

  • BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business related field

  • Observant, accurate and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment

  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)

  • Experience working in a dynamic and changing company environment a plus

  • Self-driven motivator who takes initiative on projects with a strong ability to understand and solve creative challenges

  • Account reconciliation experience

  • Consolidated Financial Statements experience required

  • Financial reconciliation experience

  • Adeptness in year end closings

  • Month end closings experience highly desired

  • Solid understanding of Analyze Financial Statements

  • Outstanding technology, analytics and management experience required

  • Able to build and deliver effective presentations to audiences with wide-ranging backgrounds
