Robert Half Staff Accountant / Auditor in Honolulu, Hawaii
Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and competent Staff Audit/Tax Accountant for our client’s CPA firm. The successful candidate will bring a strong foundation in audit and tax accounting principles, excellent problem-solving skills, and a meticulous, organized approach to work. This position is in Honolulu, Hawaii, and is 100% on-site/in-office, full-time, Monday - Friday.
Responsibilities:
Execute audit and tax assignments, ensuring that work is done on time and within budget.
Prepare and analyze accounting records, financial statements, and other reports to assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance to reporting and procedural standards.
Prepare accurate tax returns for non-profit clients, promptly resolving any discrepancies.
Ensure compliance with state and federal regulatory requirements by staying current with changes in tax law.
Provide advice on tax related issues to clients under the supervision of senior staff.
Educate clients on the implications of tax and audit decisions, providing clear, accurate reports as needed.
Develop and maintain positive relationships with clients to enhance our firm's reputation.
Perform studies and recommendations to improve accounting processes and procedures.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification.
Previous experience in audit and tax accounting.
Knowledge of IRS regulations.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Exceptional organizational skills—including the ability to manage multiple tasks, work under pressure, and meet deadlines.
Advanced proficiency in accounting software and MS Office Suite, and previous use of Tax Software.
Self-starter with ability to work independently and as part of a team.
High level of integrity and professionalism.
