Description

Jamie Benway with Robert Half is offering an exciting opportunity for a Staff Accountant with her client outside of Portland, Oregon. This role is focused on maintaining and controlling the general ledger accounts and business transactions of the organization, applying Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). This includes analytical work and thorough review of financial records.

Responsibilities:

• Assist with the month-end closing process, conducting bank reconciliations, and issuing financial statements.

• Maintain the general ledger chart of accounts.

• Perform account analysis and reconciliation, including bank statements and intercompany general ledger accounts.

• Maintain and coordinate the implementation of accounting control procedures.

• Monitor and review accounting and related system reports for accuracy and completeness.

• Prepare and review budget, revenue, expense, payroll entries, invoices, and other accounting documents.

• Explain billing invoices and accounting policies to staff, vendors, and clients.

• Resolve accounting discrepancies.

• Recommend, develop and maintain financial data bases, computer software systems, and manual filing systems.

• Interact with internal and external auditors in completing audits.

Requirements • Must possess a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a similar field.

• Proven proficiency in Bank Reconciliations is a must.

• Experience with General Ledger management is desired.

• Knowledge of Month End Close procedures is necessary.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are required.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills are expected.

• Must have a strong understanding of financial regulations and legislation.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, is required.

• Experience with accounting software and databases is preferred.

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in work is necessary.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team is desired.

• Good organizational and time management skills are required.

• The ability to meet deadlines and manage stress effectively in high-pressure situations is necessary.

• Proven ability to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately is required.

• Professional certification as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is a plus.
