Robert Half Accounting Manager in Houston, Texas
Description
We are offering an exciting opportunity for an Accounting Manager in Houston, Texas. The role is within the share service of an oilfield service industry and will encompass a range of responsibilities such as managing financial reporting, doing consolidation and elimination, overseeing general ledger and account management, assisting in budgeting and forecasting, and ensuring compliance and audits. Additionally, the role will involve team management and process improvement. The candidate must be bilingual in Spanish. The position is located in Galleria.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee the completion of month-end and year-end close processes and ensure they are completed in a timely manner.
• Supervise the accounting operations of subsidiary corporations, including their control systems and transaction-processing operations.
• Create and review financial statements such as balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
• Maintain the general ledger and chart of accounts and conduct regular reconciliations of bank accounts and other balance sheet accounts.
• Assist in annual budgeting and periodic forecasting processes, and analyze financial variances and trends to provide insights for profitability improvement and cost reduction.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and other regulatory requirements, coordinate with external auditors, and prepare for quarterly and annual audits.
• Supervise, mentor, and train accounting team members, set team goals, evaluate performance, and promote a culture of accuracy, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
• Identify and implement improvements in accounting processes and systems and collaborate with other departments to streamline workflows and improve financial data quality.
• Coordinate with tax advisors on compliance, filing, and planning, and assist in the preparation of tax returns and other statutory filings.
Requirements
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role as an Accounting Manager
• Proficiency in Month End Close process
• Bilingual in Spanish
• Experience with Consolidations
• Ability to provide accurate Financial Reporting
