Candidates who are interested in working at a dynamic organization with a growing team will be interested in this Accounts Payable (A/P) Clerk position, which will match, batch and code invoices, resolve A/P issues, process expense reports, update and reconcile sub-ledger to G/L, and process checks. The Accounts Payable Clerk role will be situated in the Houston, Texas area and is a permanent employment.

Our client a growing construction firm located in West Houston, TX is seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist. The Accounts Payable Specialist must have 5+ years of Full Cycle Accounts Payable including Purchase Orders, Month End, and all things Accounts Payable. Vista Viewpoint software and construction industry experience are highly preferred. This is a direct hire opportunity paying up to 26/HR plus benefits.

Your responsibilities

  • Sort, register, scan, and store invoices, checks, and other documents

  • Open, organize, and distribute department mail daily

  • Manage full-cycle A/P

  • Handle administrative tasks for the AP/Finance Department

  • Provide internal and external audit assistance as required

  • Verify, log and mail checks, including expediting special handling

  • Provide support to internal business partners

  • Execute additional tasks as needed

  • Perform daily processes and controls correctly and punctually, ensuring company policies are followed

    Requirements - 5+ years of experience in an A/P role preferred

  • Strong communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills, especially with both technical and financial backgrounds

  • Highly organized, attentive, has a sense of urgency, flexible and able to deal with frequent interruptions and changing priorities

  • Solid understanding of Accounts Payable (AP)

  • Account reconciliation experience preferred

  • Microsoft Windows Vista experience highly desired

  • Proficiency in month end closings

  • Purchase Orders experience preferred

  • Working knowledge of spreadsheets and databases

  • AA or BS/BA degree in Accounting, Business or similar preferred
