Description
We are seeking an Data Governance Analyst for a long-term role in Houston, TX. This role offers a long-term contract opportunity in the digital industry. You will be instrumental in developing a robust Data Governance framework across all departments. This role demands a proactive individual who can work collaboratively across multiple departments and stakeholders to build consensus, enhance data quality, and address data-related issues efficiently.
Responsibilities:
• Develop a robust Data Governance framework by engaging with both business and Digital stakeholders to understand the requirements.
• Foster the development and acceptance of data principles, policies, and standards.
• Collaborate with the data governance lead and data stewards to develop, implement, and maintain data governance standards, practices, and processes.
• Assist in metadata management in our data catalog to capture data documentation such as workflows, data dictionaries, glossaries, lineage, and other metadata.
• Work with stakeholders to develop a network of data stewards and data owners.
• Assist to develop and execute data governance training.
• Develop, maintain, and support a data governance-centric workspace.
• Advise and assist in identifying and escalating business risks that could impair the success of the program and negatively impact business goals.
• Demonstrate strong proficiency in SharePoint and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Exhibit strong proficiency in requirements gathering and creating detailed documentation and workflows.
Requirements
• Demonstrated proficiency in data management and data governance
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suites and SharePoint Administration
• Proficient in executing end-to-end digital business strategies
• Knowledge of business and digital principles and practices
• Ability to communicate effectively in written format
• Skilled in requirements gathering and capturing business needs
• Familiarity with relational databases and metadata management
• Proven quality assurance skills and ability to maintain data quality
• Experience in working with business users and stakeholders across an enterprise-wide framework
• Ability to provide training and create comprehensive documentation
• Understanding of policy development and implementation in a digital business context.
