Assistant Controller - South Houston

Our client, a global E&C; company, is actively searching for an Assistant Controller to support their growth and recent acquisitions. This Assistant Controller will work closely with the CFO, Controller, and operational leadership for the organization with leadership of deliverables and eventually a team. The Assistant Controller will be based in Houston but will travel extensively (up to 50% - domestic) for the first six months to assist with integration of the acquired companies as well as process standardization. Once the individual and the acquired entities are positioned appropriately travel should drop to around 10% or so.

Representative responsibilities include:

  • Supervision/preparation of the monthly financial statements

  • Consolidations and intercompany accounting

  • Analysis and standardization of the Job Cost/Percentage of Completion policies and ensuring revenue is recognized appropriately

  • Integrate and utilize technology to integrate data and systems to a common ledger

  • Work closely with operations to provide accurate and relevant decision support

  • Support the budgeting and forecasting process as needed

  • Work closely with external auditors and internal stakeholders

The ideal candidate will have 7+ years of progressive experience within the Engineering, Construction, Manufacturing, or Project Driven space. A degree in Accounting is preferred and a CPA license is desired but not required. Must be intellectually curious and a self-starter with a history of driving process and deliverables. Experience from a larger company with a defined process/policy/structure is desired as exposure to a framework like this will allow for the ability to integrate/standardize processes more effectively.
