Robert Half Assistant Controller in Houston, Texas

Description We are in search of an Assistant Controller to join our team in Houston, Texas. The selected candidate will be responsible for overseeing accounting functions, ensuring efficiency and accuracy in our financial operations. This role provides a short term contract employment opportunity in the telecom industry, where you will utilize your skills in accounting software systems and enterprise resource planning, among others.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the operations of the Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) departments to ensure accuracy and timeliness.

• Manage the use and implementation of Accounting Software Systems and ERP Solutions.

• Utilize ADP - Financial Services for efficient financial management.

• Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance and accuracy in financial operations.

• Utilize Great Plains (GPAC) for effective enterprise resource planning.

• Coordinate the budget processes and ensure all budgets are accurate and submitted on time.

• Maintain thorough knowledge and control of all accounting functions.

• Utilize ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning for efficient business process management.

• Regularly review and analyze financial data and prepare financial reports.

• Resolve any issues or discrepancies that may arise in accounting operations. Requirements • Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems

• Experience in ADP - Financial Services

• Knowledge of ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning and ERP Solutions

• Familiarity with Great Plains (GPAC)

• Ability to perform various Accounting Functions

• Expertise in managing Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Experience in Auditing procedures and practices

• Understanding of Budget Processes

• Ability to perform duties of an Assistant Controller

• Strong organizational and multitasking skills

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• A Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field

• Relevant certification such as CPA is preferred

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills

• Knowledge of financial regulations and legislation

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
