Description
The Budget Analyst will play a crucial role in managing the financial planning and budgeting processes of our non-profit organization. This position is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with a strong understanding of non-profit accounting and budgeting practices. The Budget Analyst will work closely with various departments to ensure accurate budget preparation, monitoring, and reporting.
Budget Analyst Responsibilities:
Budget Preparation: Develop, prepare, and manage the organization’s annual budget and periodic forecasts.
Financial Analysis: Conduct detailed financial analysis, including budget-to-actual variance analysis, to provide insights and recommendations for financial decision-making.
Reporting: Prepare and present regular budget reports to senior management, including detailed financial statements and variance explanations.
Collaboration: Work with department heads to gather budgetary data, review financial requests, and ensure alignment with organizational goals and policies.
Grant Management: Assist in preparing budgets for grant proposals and monitor grant spending to ensure compliance with funding requirements.
Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance budget accuracy and efficiency.
Training and Support: Provide training and support to staff on budget-related matters and financial best practices.
Compliance: Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations and standards, including donor restrictions and reporting requirements.
Requirements
Budget Analyst Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
Minimum of 3 years of experience in budgeting, financial analysis, or a similar role, preferably in a non-profit organization
Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
Knowledge of non-profit accounting principles and grant management is a plus
