Description
We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Construction Controller to join our team in Houston, Texas. In this role, you will manage a variety of financial operations within the construction industry, including fixed asset accounting, intercompany and consolidations, and managing AP and Payroll processes. As a Construction Controller, you will manage the financial well-being of civil construction progress by managing POC and WIP analysis, project reconciliations, and project billing.
Responsibilities:
• Assume full ownership and maintenance of the ERP system, ensuring the integrity of audited annual financial statements and preparation of monthly financials
• Conduct account reconciliations and cash flow projections, maintaining internal controls and financial statements
• Interface with company executives, project managers, auditors, tax CPAs, bankers, insurance, and bonding professionals, managing all financial and back-office responsibilities
• Reconcile billings to costs, recording cash applications to billings, and maintain the fixed asset ledger, ensuring compliance with regulatory and taxing authorities
• Utilize your expertise in unit price work, contracts, multiple companies, equipment and shop support centers, fixed assets, equipment loans and multi-state taxes
• Manage a staff, including contracts / AP accountants, shop / equipment accountant, general office administrator, and payroll / HR manager
• Work with Sage 300 (Timberline), TimberScan My Assistant software and In Eight project management system to manage financial operations
• Train and mentor staff, ensuring clear communication and articulation of concepts
• Apply your knowledge of cost-to-completion, contract pricing, construction accounting, federal taxes, job cost, project management, financial statement analysis and preparation, annual budget, bank reconciliations, and cash reconciliations
Requirements • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role
• Proficiency in COST-TO-COMPLETION projects
• Experience with Contract Pricing
• Familiarity with Sage 300 software
• Extensive knowledge of Construction Accounting
• Understanding of Federal Taxes
• Ability to perform Job Cost calculations
• Proven skills in Project Management
• Capacity to Analyze Financial Statements
• Experience in Financial Statement Preparation
• Ability to prepare an Annual Budget
• Experience in Bank Reconciliations
• Proficiency in Cash Reconciliations
