Description Robert Half has an exciting opportunity for an ambitious Controller to join a well-respected services company. In this leadership position, you will direct an accounting and clerical department. The Controller plans and directs all accounting operational functions, manages the accumulation and consolidation of financial data for internal and external financial statements, analyzes accounting and internal control systems, and guides departmental staff. Responsibilities
Manage monthly and annual close of income statement and balance sheet, the reconciliations of accounts, and G/L analysis
Each month, present executive committee and partners with financial reports
Assess, execute and improve policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies
Direct finance department activities, such as accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll
Manage the creation of the annual budget and forecasts and monitor them on a monthly basis
Ensure deliverables of self and team meet client expectations
Manage daily cash and prepare cash-flow reports, projecting cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals
Support punctual cash collection by managing the timing for monthly billing and other cash management techniques
Perform duties beyond formal job responsibilities
Collaborate with executive team and partners to make efficient and effective firm-wide operation possible
Research, plan and implement Finance Department initiatives including software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, as needed Requirements - Earlier experience in public accounting is highly valued
Candidate must possess first-rate analytical, quantitative and social skills
Ability to work in a dynamic and changing environment
Ability to prioritize work and balance multiple projects and deadlines
Deep understanding of month end closings
Budget forecasting experience
Solid understanding of Epicor
Financial statement preparation experience preferred
Cost accounting experience preferred
Self-driven motivator who takes initiative on projects with a strong ability to understand and solve creative challenges
Advanced credentials such as a Masters of Business Administration / MBA or Certified Public Accountant / CPA are preferred
Able to build and deliver effective presentations to audiences with wide-ranging backgrounds
Great written, verbal, and interpersonal skills
BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business related field
High attention to detail and possesses excellent organizational and writing skills
Prior work in technology, analytics and management experience desired
10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller preferred
