Robert Half Controller in Houston, Texas

Description We are in search of a Division Controller to take charge of our financial operations within two of our divisions located in Houston, Texas. This role will be pivotal in our architectural engineering firm as it will involve overseeing month-end close and division financial reporting, aligning our financial responsibilities and objectives with the company's targets and vision. The position offers a hybrid work schedule, allowing for a balance between working in our Houston offices and from home.


• Preparation and monitoring of the monthly close process and financial reporting for two divisions.

• Conducting in-depth financial analysis to identify trends, forecast business growth, and identify potential cost efficiencies.

• Ensuring that the divisions maintain financial record systems in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, and monitoring the use of all funds.

• Ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal budgetary reporting requirements.

• Establishing credibility throughout the organization as a highly effective developer of solutions to business challenges.

• Developing and implementing financial policies and procedures to enhance the company's operational proficiency.

• Collaborating with senior management in strategic planning, budgeting and forecasting initiatives.

• Participating in activities to improve departmental efficiency, conserve company resources, and boost financial performance. Requirements • Must have a minimum of 7 years of experience in a Controller role or similar position

• Proficient in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) handling

• Demonstrated knowledge in auditing processes and procedures

• Experience in budget processes and budgeting forecasting is essential

• Capability to manage the General Ledger effectively

• Familiarity with Month End Close processes

• Need to have experience in Monthly Financial Reporting

• Proven experience in supervising a team of finance professionals

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or related field is required

• Excellent analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills

• Strong verbal and written communication skills

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly advanced skills in Excel

• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) certification is preferred
