We are looking for a Director of Accounting to join our team in Houston, Texas. In this role, you will oversee and manage all aspects of our accounting department, including construction, property, and corporate accounting. You will be responsible for leading the accounting team, developing accounting policies and procedures, ensuring compliance, and staying updated on industry trends.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee and manage the entire accounting department, including construction, property, and corporate accounting

• Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulations

• Manage financial reporting and analysis to provide strategic financial guidance

• Drive efficiencies in the accounting department and throughout the organization

• Stay updated on industry trends to ensure best practices are being followed

• Foster effective communication among various stakeholders within the organization

• Oversee regulatory requirements to ensure the company is in compliance

• Lead the accounting team, providing guidance and leadership

• Utilize accounting software systems effectively and efficiently

• Manage accounts payable and receivable, as well as auditing and budget processes

• Ensure accurate and timely month-end close and financial reporting.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Director of Accounting or similar role for a minimum of 5-7+ years

• Proficiency in using Accounting Software Systems

• Extensive knowledge of Accounting Functions including Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Experience in Auditing and Budget Processes

• Familiarity with Month End Close procedures

• Ability to provide accurate Financial Reporting

• Demonstrated Leadership Development skills

• Experience in Construction Accounting is preferred

• Excellent communication and organizational skills

• Ability to work with multiple stakeholders and lead a team.
