Robert Half Director of Finance in Houston, Texas

Description We are in the process of recruiting a Director of Finance to join our team in Houston, Texas. The successful candidate will be responsible for working closely with business heads to understand key performance drivers and assist in decision making. This role will involve producing accurate financial reports, ensuring the alignment of financials in business systems, and providing finance and tax advice as required.

Responsibilities

• Work in collaboration with business heads to understand and assist in key performance decisions.

• Prepare and maintain the 5-year budget and monthly forecasts.

• Generate accurate and complete financial reports on a monthly, quarterly, and year-end basis.

• Ensure the alignment of financials in front-end business systems.

• Monitor and reconcile Balance Sheet accounts, resolving any long-standing issues.

• Provide finance and tax advice to the business as necessary, including reviewing the credit worthiness of customers.

• Oversee the recording and settlement of intercompany billings and recharges between legal entities.

• Ensure timely tax filings and payments to tax authorities or other government authorities.

• Monitor general and administrative expenses for Houston and Americas.

• Ensure compliance with all corporate policies, processes, and procedures.

• Represent finance in board meetings in Americas as needed. Requirements • Candidate must possess a minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in a leadership position.

• Demonstrable expertise in Corporate Financial Planning is required.

• Proficiency in conducting Month End Close processes is expected.

• Familiarity and experience with Balance Sheet Account management is necessary.

• Applicant must have a strong understanding of financial regulations and legislation.

• Excellent communication and leadership skills are essential.

• A Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or related field is required; a Master's degree or relevant certifications would be advantageous.

• Strong analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills are necessary.

• Proficiency in using financial software and databases is expected.

• Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise extreme discretion is required.

• High level of commercial and business awareness is expected.
