Robert Half Director/Manager Financial Reporting in Houston, Texas

Description This position will be responsible for consolidation of financial information, the preparation of the quarterly and annual financial statements filed with the SEC, monthly reporting to senior management and our Board of Managers. This position supervises the financial reporting analyst.


  1. Prepares / reviews monthly consolidated financial statements and financial reports

  2. Prepares quarterly and annual consolidated financial statements, footnotes and MD& A for Forms 8-k, 10-Q, 10-K and Def-14 filed with the SEC. Assists with filing Forms 3,4 & 5 when needed

  3. Review XBRL and prepare linking tables for public filings

  4. Prepares monthly and quarterly consolidated flux analysis

  5. Prepares consolidated cash flow statement and maintains the financial reporting workbook.

  6. Prepares monthly Equity Rollforward, Property rollforward, and EPS Calculations

  7. Maintains the Quarterly Reporting Calendar

  8. Prepares and provides first level review of financial statement support book (tie-out binder)

  9. Maintains accounting controls by following policies and procedures

  10. Prepares separate entity financial statements, as needed

  11. Liaises with outside auditors and tax consultants on a quarterly basis

  12. Prepares audit work papers

  13. Researches accounting pronouncements, issues and alternatives and assist with implementation and preparing Company position memos

  14. Documents and performs key internal controls needed to maintain strong and effective control environment

  15. Assists in preparation of the standardized measure of oil & gas disclosures

  16. Completes special projects and analyses as needed

  17. Maintains detail oriented and technical knowledge

  18. Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed

  19. Performs other duties to ensure successful services are delivered and customers are satisfied

  20. Maintains excellent attendance and punctuality


  1. Familiarity with IDEAS familiarity with Equity Management (Certent EM and DM) software

  2. Strong US GAAP knowledge and technical accounting research skills

  3. Strong organizational skills and detail orientation.

  4. Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  5. Proficient in working as part of a team; self-motivated

  6. Strong working knowledge of personal computers with proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word or comparable software.


  1. Bachelor’s Degree

  2. CPA

  3. Five to ten years’ experience accounting and reporting for oil & gas exploration and production company in an SEC and SOX compliant environment Requirements Consolidated Financial Statements, External Financial Reports, XBRL Tagging, Microsoft Excel
