Robert Half Facilities Administrator in Houston, Texas

Description

Our client is looking for an Assistant Facilities Manager to join their team in Houston, Texas. The individual will be expected to assist in managing office operations, ensuring that facilities are running smoothly and efficiently. The role requires the individual to be skilled in coordinating construction projects, managing HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems, and ensuring that our facilities comply with health and safety regulations.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in managing all aspects of the office's facilities to ensure smooth and efficient operations.

• Supervise and coordinate construction projects, ensuring they meet specifications, timelines, and budget.

• Manage HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems to ensure optimal operations and prevent potential issues.

• Monitor existing facilities to ensure they exceed health and safety regulations and recommend upgrades when necessary.

• Oversee facility refurbishments and renovations.

• Coordinate with team members and vendors for equipment maintenance, including preventive, corrective, and replacement schedules.

• Regularly interact with employees, addressing their needs and feedback regarding building facilities and workspace.

• Act as a liaison with city officials, contractors, and various service providers.

• Track budgets for building operations and maintenance.

• Assist with emergency response and evacuation procedures.

Skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel

• Experience with Purchasing Activities

• Knowledge in Budgeting

• Familiarity with Facilities Management

• Experience as a Facilities Coordinator

Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in an a Facilities role or similar position

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions and formulas

• Experience with purchasing activities, including vendor management and contract negotiation

• Strong understanding of budgeting processes and financial forecasting

• Experience in coordinating and managing facilities, including maintenance schedules and vendor contracts

• Knowledge of facilities management best practices and industry standards

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously

• Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy

• Proactive in identifying and resolving problems

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or related field is preferred but not required.
