Robert Half Financial Reporting Supervisor in HOUSTON, Texas

Description

Robert Half Finance is looking for a talented accounting professional to work with a thriving company as a Controller. This is a successful organization that will recognize your efforts. You might be a good fit for this position if you can lead daily operations, such as preparing and/or reviewing appropriate ledger entries and reconciliations, maintaining the general ledger system, preparing monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements, and assisting with regulatory reporting as applicable. The ability to create and monitor the company's accounting and finance operations will be essential for this role. Based in the Houston, Texas area, this Controller position is a terrific opportunity for full-time employment.

Key responsibilities

  • Assemble a variety of technical accounting policies, procedures, and analyses

  • Assist in the implementation of NetSuite Financials, which includes designing systems and processes, migrating data, testing, training, and administrating

  • Working knowledge of enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems is valuable

  • Assist in preparing GAAP financial statements, which includes data analysis, document preparation, integrity validation, and reconciliation processes

  • Periodically review and inspect the balance sheets and income statement accounts of Senior Accountants

  • Ensure close deadlines are met by encouraging and managing the accounting team performance during the closing process

  • Collaborate with FP& A and accounting management to deliver relevant and timely reporting of financial data analytics, including monthly flash report, key financial metrics, and actual spend against budgets/outlook

    Requirements - Foundational knowledge in bank reconciliations

  • Account reconciliation experience highly desired

  • Solid understanding of financial statements consolidation

  • Proficiency in journal entries

  • Month end closings experience

  • Demonstrated technology and analytical abilities

  • 5+ years of recent relevant financial experience

  • Customer service oriented communication skills that allow for pleasant and beneficial interactions with all customers

  • Working knowledge of enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems is valuable

  • Ability to recognize, evaluate, and resolve problems effectively

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or equivalent degree and/or experience

  • Advanced credentials such as a Masters of Business Administration / MBA or Certified Public Accountant / CPA are preferred
