Robert Half Legal Accounts Receivable Clerk in Houston, Texas
Description
Our client located in the Greenway area of Houston, TX is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical individual to join our team as a Legal Accounts Receivable Specialist The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of billing and collections, assisting with monthly and year-end close of accounts receivable reports, and working closely with our finance team to maintain a seamless flow of revenue.
Responsibilities:
Manage the billing and collections process including aged receivables, client invoicing, and payment allocation.
Coordinate and resolve any billing inquiries and discrepancies.
Assist with the monthly and year-closing of accounts receivable reports.
Prepare and analyze AR aging reports to identify outstanding debts.
Ensure proper recording and application of cash, management of outstanding invoices, and direct interfacing with clients on collection matters and dispute resolutions.
Assist in the identification and implementation of improvements to the AR processes and systems.
Work closely with the team to accomplish departmental goals and deadlines.
Comply with all legal requirements, adhering to federal and state regulations.
Requirements • Proven experience as an Accounts Receivable Clerk or similar role for at least 3 years
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Experience with account reconciliation and accounts receivable (AR)
• Familiarity with billing procedures, cash applications, and cash collections
• Experience with commercial collections
• Knowledge of legal billing and legal software
• Strong data entry skills and attention to detail
• Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field is desirable
