Description
An expanding and prestigious personal injury law firm is hiring for a Legal Assistant in Houston, Texas, 77019. This role involves managing case files, drafting legal documents, and conducting client interviews in a well-established practice specializing in personal injury. The ideal candidate should be detail-oriented, organized, and committed to delivering excellent customer service.
Responsibilities:
• Assist attorneys with trial preparations, depositions, and hearings.
• Maintain case files, calendars, and ensure deadlines are met.
• Draft and file court documents, correspondence, and pleadings.
• Conduct client interviews and maintain communication with clients and attorneys.
• Conduct legal research and summarize laws, cases, and legal articles.
• Use Case Management Software to manage and organize case files.
• Utilize LexisNexis for conducting legal research and summarizing laws, cases, and legal articles.
• Use Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suites for administrative tasks and documentation.
• Handle billing functions related to the case management.
• Manage briefing and complaint handling related to personal injury law.
• Calendar Management to ensure important deadlines are met.
Requirements
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a relevant field.
Previous law firm experience, particularly in personal injury cases, is highly desirable.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and legal research software.
Ability to multitask, prioritize work, and meet deadlines.
Detail-oriented with exceptional organizational skills.
