Robert Half Payroll Supervisor - US in HOUSTON, Texas
Description Robert Half is currently working with a client looking to fill a Payroll Manager position. The Payroll Manager will help meet standards for the financial department necessary for growth and will work on tax-related tasks, such as W2 forms, preparing reports and updating policies. Your responsibilities in this role
Regulate system upgrades and the processing of payroll changes (e.g., new hires, terminations, raises)
Liaise with auditors and manage payroll tax audits
Manage and train payroll clerks and assistants
Develop systems to process payroll account transactions (e.g., salaries, benefits, garnishments, deductions, taxes and third-party payments)
Collaborate with Human Resources (HR) and accounting teams
Settle issues and respond to all questions related to payroll
Manage the accuracy of records and prepare reports
Comply with relevant laws and internal policies
Coordinate timekeeping and payroll systems Requirements - 2+ years of proven leadership experience as a payroll manager or similar role
Well versed in a range of payroll applications
Organizational and leadership skills
Knowledge in compliance
CPP, CPM, or other related professional certifications is a plus
5+ years of payroll experience
Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Human Resources or related field
Excellent understanding of multi-location payroll and taxes
Sound understanding of current payroll procedures and related laws
Excellent written/verbal communication and organizational skills
Proactive in handling confidential business matters and information with discretion
