Robert Half PC Technician in Houston, Texas

The PC Technician Role is a long-term contract / temporary opportunity and will be located in the Houston, Texas region.

Your responsibilities

  • Assist with functionality testing and end user support

  • Handle take down, packaging, transportation and setup/installation on site

  • Manage inventory of equipment, including collaborating on potential purchases

  • Disassemble, box and ship equipment that is out of date

  • Install, troubleshoot and repair printers

  • Interface with ticket submitters regularly and effectively

  • Communicate with suitable vendors to coordinate needed repairs

  • Diagnose, repair, rebuild, and refurbish a variety of computer hardware, including PCs, laptops, monitors, servers and other IT equipment

  • Manage and execute technology implementation projects

  • Ensure the integrity of electronic data records, acting in accordance with company quality standards

  • Handle data transfers from PC to PC and troubleshoot software/hardware along with break/fix

  • Manage imaging and preparation for new computers

  • Maintain records of daily data communication transactions, issues and remedial actions taken or installation activities Requirements - Command of Desktop Imaging

  • Comprehensive knowledge of PC skills

  • Strong familiarity with Basic Troubleshooting

  • Proven flexibility to adapt to changes in procedures and job assignments

  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills

  • 1 - 3 years of experience with PC and Mac hardware and software, and an understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, LAN, and WAN

  • Preferred skills include an understanding of networking such as switching and routing

  • CompTIA A+ certification required

  • High attention to detail
