Client is seeking an experienced and motivated Accounting Analyst to join our team. Working in collaboration with the Savannah accounting team and the Houston supply team, the Accounting Analyst/Accountant will be responsible for a wide range of general accounting functions and providing financial analyses.
Responsibilities:
Analyzing financial and risk transactions, ensuring accuracy and completeness of entries.
Inventory reconciilations
Reviewing, investigating, and correcting inconsistencies in financial entries and reports.
Analyzing and reporting on cargo costs.
Addressing inquiries from various personnel, delivering findings in a clear, concise manner.
Acquiring a comprehensive understanding of operational and accounting software and systems.
Meeting all deadlines in accordance with departmental schedules.
Creating journal entries for revenues, expenses, inventory, and other transactions.
Communicating with the credit team about cash disbursement estimates.
Providing backup support for accounts payable and receivable processing.
Preparing monthly account reconciliations.
Undertaking special projects, reports, tasks, and financial assessments as assigned.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
3-5 years of experience in accounting and risk analysis.
Experience in Crude and Refined Products, terminal operations, or wholesale/distribution industry is preferred.
ETRM experience required, Allegro Right Angle experience a plus.
Proficiency in Excel, including Pivot Tables and XLookup.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent problem-solving abilities and interpersonal skills.
Ability to multi-task, work under pressure, meet deadlines, and thrive in a fast-paced work environment.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel, and comfortable working with multiple software platforms and large automated accounting systems.
