Robert Half Research Compliance Specialist in Houston, Texas

Description

Our reputable staffing agency is currently recruiting for an exceptional Research Compliance professional on behalf of our esteemed client. The candidate will provide crucial support to the IRB Associate Director, functioning as a regulatory expert and coordinating tasks related to research compliance in the Research Integrity and Oversight Office.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and execute a comprehensive analysis of human or animal research protocols and conflict of interest certifications and disclosures.

  • Evaluate submissions for completeness, initiate regulatory review categorization, and assure compliance before committee review.

  • Gather necessary data from researchers and staff, propose solutions to submission issues.

  • Arrange committee meetings, delegate tasks to faculty reviewers with relevant expertise.

  • Craft official committee correspondences and meeting minutes.

  • Evaluate responses to committee required modifications for protocol approval.

  • Approve administrative adjustments to protocols.

  • Conduct regular post-approval monitoring of ongoing research.

  • Maintain federally mandated records.

  • Act as a primary liaison for regulatory audits and facility inspections.

  • Investigate potential regulatory non-compliance issues, prepare investigation reports, and present results to the committee.

  • Prepare reports for regulatory agencies and accreditation bodies for Institutional Official review.

  • Offer regulatory guidance to committee Chair/Vice Chair.

  • Collaborate with other campus committees and groups to ensure research approvals.

  • Utilize comprehensive knowledge of research protection regulations, and stay updated with regulatory changes.

  • Develop and implement regulatory policies and procedures.

    Requirements

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree with emphasis on an analytical, technical, or professional discipline, or equivalent specialized training directly related to the job role.

  • Minimum of three (3) years of directly job-related experience.

  • Expertise in research protection regulations

  • Willingness for professional growth through continuous education and certification.
