Robert Half Senior Accountant in Houston, Texas
Robert Half is searching for a Senior Accountant with previous accounting experience who is interested in working with an esteemed Service firm. You will be responsible for preparing and consolidating financial statements, analyzing and reconciling accounts, analyzing cash flow, creating budgets and forecasts, preparing audits, and managing internal control maintenance and regulatory reporting. Candidates need to bring strong analytical skills to the role and should be capable of handling challenging, fast-paced work environments. Supply Balance Sheet account reconciliations
Contribute to coordinating quarterly reviews and testing with internal and external auditors
Analyze financial information and report on financial results (trends, performance metrics, benchmarks)
Prepare monthly consolidated P& L and Balance Sheet flux analysis for management reporting
Administer Ad-hoc projects as necessary
Continuously analyze current automation of the accounting and reporting process and present improvement suggestions
Uphold company standards when working with business partners to ensure compliance with corporate accounting policies, procedures and controls; while also providing support on special requests when required
Apply oneself to various department-wide initiatives
Complete monthly accounting close procedures and deliverables that includes journal entries, reconciliations, and reports in the compensation area in compliance with GAAP

Skilled at time management
SOX internal control assessments (Section 404) experience
Experience working in a dynamic and changing company environment a plus
Ability and willingness to meet business critical deadlines
Proficiency with corporate performance management (CPM) and business intelligence systems required
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, CPA credentials are preferred
Detailed and have the ability work independently
Previous experience in public accounting is highly valued
3+ years of overall general accounting experience, ideally with Big 4 experience
Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Excel
Annual Financial Reporting experience
Monthly Financial Statements experience required
Foundational knowledge in journal entries
Accruals experience highly desired
Strong familiarity with financial statement preparation
Adeptness in financial reconciliation
Self-driven motivator who takes initiative on projects with a strong ability to understand and solve creative challenges
Demonstrated ability in exemplary analytical, quantitative and social skills
Knowledgeable of ERP systems
