Robert Half Senior Revenue Analyst in Houston, Texas

Description

The Revenue Analyst will be responsible for the following:

  • Analyzing revenue cycle data, preparing revenue forecasts, and performing trend analysis

  • Interpret revenue arrangements, prepare revenue checklists, assess, and summarize revenue implications, and document conclusions on revenue recognition treatment for all arrangements in accordance with US GAAP

  • Manage the monthly revenue accounting close process including the reconciliation and analysis of revenue and related balance sheet accounts such as deferred revenue, unbilled receivables, accounts receivables, bad debt reserve, credit memo reserve and deferred costs

  • Prepare and maintain recurring revenue analysis schedules used to support revenue recognition as well backlog disclosure reporting and forecasting

  • Responsible for detailed spreadsheet analysis for revenue and deferred revenue including quarterly flux analysis for management and external auditors

  • Analyze contracts and receivables for potential losses and accrue reserves as necessary

  • Maintain control documentation for revenue related processes and key controls in compliance with Sarbanes Oxley

  • Liaise with internal and external auditors related to quarterly and annual audits of contracts, revenue as well as internal control testing

  • Collaborate with operations management, IT and professional service team to assess, help define and implement accounting systems

  • Provide support to any special and ad-hoc projects including the implementation of new accounting systems and related revenue reporting improvements

Must have a minimum of 2 years revenue recognition with a Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, familiarity with ASC 985-606 preferred.
