Robert Half Sr. Accountant in Houston, Texas

Description We are in search of a Sr. Accountant to join our team in Houston, Texas. In this role, you will be expected to review and improve current processes, work with QuickBooks Online and Microsoft Excel, and handle job costing and allocations. This role provides an opportunity for short term contract employment in the telecom industry.

Responsibilities:

• Review and improve current accounting processes, documenting new processes for implementation

• Work extensively with QuickBooks Online to handle financial processes

• Utilize Intermediate Excel skills for data analysis and reporting

• Handle job costing and allocations to accurately track project expenses

• Collaborate with the team for month-end close and completing financials

• Conduct account reconciliation, balance sheet reconciliation, and bank reconciliations

• Manage the general ledger and prepare journal entries

• Monitor Work In Progress (WIP) accounts and ensure accurate reporting. Requirements • Must hold a minimum of 5 years of experience in an accounting role, preferably as a Sr. Accountant.

• Proficient in Account Reconciliation, Balance Sheet Reconciliation, and Bank Reconciliations.

• Demonstrable experience with General Ledger maintenance and Journal Entries.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is essential.

• Experience in Month End Close procedures.

• Familiarity with Quickbooks Online is required.

• Knowledge of WIP - Work In Progress procedures.

• Experience in Job Cost accounting is highly desirable.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or similar qualification is a plus.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

• High level of honesty, integrity, and ethics.

• Must maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial information.

• Familiarity with financial software and systems is preferred.

• Ability to meet strict deadlines and work under pressure.
